    Oxygen Advantage Breathing Methods

    Breathlessness during sport is less often about lack of fitness and more about our inability to tolerate the build up of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) - which leads to fatigue and suboptimal performance. 


    Breathing, or rather correct breathing enables us to oxygenate our body properly; which delays fatigue, and increases our capacity for more.


    What we need to do is improve our functional breathing, and then apply that to our sport or movement art. This is a shift... this is not just a breathing method for use only during sport, it becomes a general way of breathing, that is natural. 



    So what do we do here at Highland Breathing Initiative and how can that help you?


    We use the Oxygen Advantage method of breathing - we teach you the two pillars of functional breathing: Nasal Breathing and Simulated Altitude Training.


    You will learn about your respiratory system, and the critical role of CO2, we'll teach you the anatomy of your breathing muscles and give breathing exercises that teach you how to engage those muscles for all your breathing. And we discuss and teach the importance of nasal breathing during sleep.


    We teach you how to integrate the breathing protocols into your daily life and how to introduce them to your sports training, to start reaping the rewards of more effective breathing and a more oxygenated body.
